The Sunshine Blogger Award

The Sunshine Blogger Award

The Sunshine Blogger Award is a way for bloggers to get to know each other and also get other bloggers to connect with each other.
The RULES of accepting the Sunshine Award are as follows:

Acknowledge and thank the nominating blogger with a link to their website. Thank you Saint P. blogging for nominating me for this award.
Share 11 random facts about myself by answering the questions the nominating blogger has created for me.
List 11 bloggers I believe deserve some recognition and a little blogging love! (I can’t nominate the blogger who nominated me.)
Let the 11 bloggers know I nominated them.
Post 11 questions for the bloggers I nominate to answer.

Questions for my nominees:
1: Who are your favorite published authors?

I would have to say, Wes Craven, John Carpenter (The fog), Stephen King (IT, The Shining, The Stand), How can I leave out Clive Barker, I was fascinated by this guy.

2: What did you want to grow up to accomplish in your life?

There were so many things in life I wanted to accomplish, but those branches of life, the paths we take sometimes does not lead one in the correct direction. I started reading and writing at the age of two, my parents did not know what to do with me other than be in shock -they didn’t understand the left side of my brain developed at an accelerated rate. Age 5 or 6, I saw this art contest in a newspaper and drew the picture, I pilfered a stamp and envelope and mailed it in. Time past and then this tall receding hair man with glasses, wearing a conservative three piece suit of the times came knocking on the door. He and parents talked -after all he flew in from -I forget now, but parents said No! Not taking our son far away to be an artist. I must have pulled that preverbal short stick.

3: What is your favorite holiday and why?

Christmas, why, because it’s the one time of the year of true giving and wiping the egg of our faces -but present days of mass marketing and exploiting the the true nature of this time and forgetting it is Jesus birthday we actually celebrate has put a stain on this day for most.

4: If you got to choose your last meal in life, what would it be?

1: Real pizza not the fake stuff that we get now. 2: Good Chinese like I used to get in San Francisco when traveling with my Dad. 3: Mexican Food.

5: What is your favorite temperature? Mine is negative 30 degrees Fahrenheit.

Being born and bred in sunny California, 69 degrees (ok, get your mind out of the gutters) fahrenheit.

6: Introvert or Extrovert?

Introvert, although I do enjoy good company with good solid communication.

7: What are your favorite past times? Reading and writing are mine.

Wood working, fishing, writing, museums, locating lost relatives to name a few.

8: What about yourself would you change if you could?

This is a tough one. Most times I can handle the high stress of danger but regular stress from everyday life (not the small stuff) I have a hard time dealing with those. Stop smoking for good!

9: What scares you the most? Claustrophobic, myself. That and I hate needles.

Seems you and I share this one, too add to this one would be snakes. While a young lad in Ceres, Ca. I was sitting outside in a lawn chair while Dad wearing a red plastic firemans hat raking the yard, I dropped my sucker and reached down to pick it up when I saw this giant colorful snake about to have me for breakfast. Dad, with one hand grabbed that snake threshing it about very similar to what Hulk did to Loki in that one scene, then with his shovel cut its head off. For three days and nights my tongue felt like it was moving like that forked tongue I saw. Once living in Stockton, Ca during a rainy evening, I saw a baby bird and tried to get it out of harm’s way, Mama bird did not like that, at the same time a lighting bolt hit the ground while my Mother freaked out.

10: Why do you blog?

I believe I have answered this in a previous post. ENCOURAGING THUNDER AWARD! OTHER ONE WILL POST LATER

To share knowledge, to bring a smile to someone -I just wish I could be a fly on the wall to see it. To let people know they are needed and not just a number. Raised by a Mother who was very Catholic and very compassionate, I gained a value/moral to respect women in every aspect. I have seen how some are treated in this world of ours and it makes me sick even to this day. So, when I write those love poems, I want women to know that they are respected and cherished and to feel good about themselves.

11: Who is your favorite musician?

There are many, Kenny G, Mozart, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Liberace, Lionel Richie, Barry Manilow, Santana, Elvis Presley, John Lennon, to name a few, but then you have Dokken, Slaughter, Journey, Def Leppard, The Doors, AC/DC as you can tell I have a variety I like.

For the Nominees: Which took me a while for there are so many with real talent and words of wisdom, but I see I was again awarded another one this morning, so I will be able to select more later. Far out!

  1. Michael, thank you so much for the nomination:-) I wasn’t sure how I felt about receiving blogger awards, or if I should be award free, but in a previous post you talked about how you view them and then I suddenly felt like, yeah – this is fun and I am glad to be a part of it, so thank you for helping me sort that one out. I enjoyed reading your answers and will put this in the que.

  2. Oi! I thought this was a texture before I looked! Thanks for your nomination! I’m very humbled and honored to be thought of as worthy of this. I do keep my blog generally “award free” because I’m absolutely awful at being timely with them.

But be sure I would love to party with you. Thank you!

  3. Thanks so much for the nod, Michael. Your answers were very intriguing. Reading and writing at age 2? That’s noteworthy! I typically don’t participate in awards but I hope to find a clever way to incorporate the q&a into an upcoming post.
