Reblogging!

I recently came across a site. I was told by someone, that there are those that charge to reblog, but during my last six months on here, I have not came across one -until today.

I was rather disappointed, not outraged but disappointed, I know some on this platform find ways to generate a revenue which is fine and a damn good idea. But being who I am, the way I am, please keep in mind that I and most other sites will never charge to reblog a post. We do it because we want to. Maybe it fits a theme we are doing for that day. Maybe it is one hell of a post that needed to be shared. Maybe it’s a new blog and needs a little help getting noticed in this vast sea of WordPress Blogs. But when I read $200 dollars for a year, $35 for one reblog. I think there are better ways to generate an income then possibly taking an advantage of someone. This is just how I feel about this. So, if you are one who does this I mean no disrespect -I just disagree with the tactics.

  1. I think I know what site you’re referring to. I actually stopped following this person and posted a comment about the reblog fee that was promptly deleted, LOL.

In a perfect world, writers would be paid to write. Unfortunately, that’s not the case so sponsored posts and advertisements do happen. However, I think reblogging should happen when you truly feel the content warrants more views and/or it moves you. It should not be to turn a profit. But hey. To each their own, I suppose.

    1. Exactly my point, ” I think reblogging should happen when you truly feel the content warrants more views and/or it moves you. It should not be to turn a profit.”
I don’t begrudge anyone generating income but re-blogging one post for the amount that could put food on the table for the ones that are struggling to get noticed or at least have their posts read and maybe get a thumbs up or down. It’s rubbish!

  2. Well, it’s there loss cuz obviously none of us are going to pay to reblog! I say, “So long, farewell & good luck.”
I sure am glad those of us here are kind enough to take it as a complement to get reblogged & to realize that they are being exposed to new readers. As far as I know, I have not reblogged yet; I have re-posted come of your blogs on my site.
My motto is: “Why reinvent the wheel if we don’t have to?”
In fact, my FB page “A Page A Day” is almost all re-posting.

  3. Hello! Are you sure Wp charges for reblogs? Kinda crazy if Intry to think about that too hard!
Hey I have to thank for the retreats! I just saw them tonight! I don’t usually tweet! It was wonderful to see! Have a wonderful long weekend! 😄😄

  4. I appreciate reblog and feel like my post touch the reader who’s Reblogging. I feel they know their readers and decided that a particular post would be a good fit. I would never pay for a reblog… and wasn’t even aware that existed…

    1. I feel as though reblogging is a way of promoting a blog that the reader really likes – I reblog only those posts that I feel ties in with what I have posted previously (and you know that yourself). I would love it if people reblogged my posts….

  5. Hilarious. I’ve never heard of it either. But if there are stupid people prepared to pay then it serves them well for being stupid, vain and naïve. Anyway I’m relatively new to blogging and from what I’ve seen so far bloggers are intelligent, educated people. I can’t see any of them paying.

  6. I’m with you on the reblogs! Although I respect the need for one to make a living, I personally feel that when someone reblogs a post that it should be viewed as an act of generosity. Reblogs help support your blog and I feel it’s more appropriate to extend a thank you rather than an invoice.
