Easy Ham Fried Rice

This is going to be one of the easiest dishes to make. Last night, I decided to make Ham Fried Rice, I normally make it with pork the way my Mother made it but was never like the restaurants. Our Dad, rest his soul would take us once in a while to San Fransico, those dishes just could not be beaten.  I was spoiled in that way.

Thanks to Theantiramen Blog I found a recipe for Chicken Fried rice that came out fairly good and one of the tricks was to cook the rice and let it get cold before using it.  That was a great tip.  I have tried this dish four times so far and I am getting closer. I have tried it with enriched long grain white rice that was washed prior to using and I also tried Minute Rice. That’s right! Minute Rice works like a champ.

Basic ingredients:
1 cup Minute Rice
1 cup water
Follow directions and let cool, ( I did find out with the minute Rice an hour in the fridge works well).

Ham cut into bite size pieces (just enough that is needed).
Soy Sauce
Garlic Salt
Pepper ( White Pepper is suggested)
Three large Grade A eggs

Instructions:
First cook the rice and let it cool.
While the rice is cooling, grab some ham and cut into bite-size pieces and store in fridge until needed.

When your ready and the rice has cooled for at least an hour, crack and scramble the three eggs and set aside, get a large frying pan, set burner to medium and coat with a small amount of Vegetable oil -not much.
Add the ham to pan and stir so ham will not burn, next add the rice and mix together.
For the eggs, I have tried it both ways, poured directly on the rice and ham, or scrambled first then added the eggs to the larger frying pan. Either way works. Once the eggs are added, add two dashes of garlic salt, two to three dashes of the pepper, mix together then add the soy sauce a little bit at a time until you get a light brown color. You don’t want to use too much of the soy sauce because it is a salty beast.

Options: Peas, Carrots, Bamboo shoots
Top with Green onions if you have them.

TROJAN BEWARE!

Here is the update from Microsofts Windows Defender. Once it finished it gave me the news, TROJAN it’s called the Rougejs/fakecall.D

The software was able to get rid of it which was found in temporary internet file\IES folder.  This was from just visiting the site this morning. Imagine what could have happened if I did called that Scam number, it could have been worse.

I did find the person’s Facebook page and sent them a polite message informing them that their Blog may have been compromised.

Here is the screen shot after it had been removed.

WordPress Bloggers Beware! There is a bad site out there! Part 3

This morning after getting the laundry and other things done, I entered that site and this time it crashed IE. So, before making a new video, I decided to clear out the cookies and all browser history within IE, then closed it. I then started IE again, then it happened again with the endless loop of no fast escape.

The new video from this morning can be seen here.

A PingBack -Found a New Photography Blog.

I was also hoping to do a reblog this morning that Tosha point me to.  However the person’s Blog does not have any like, reblog or press this button showing up on the post, I can only assume that is part of the new update that affected several WordPress Bloggers with the like button disappearing.

So, her name is Jane and her Blog is here:

Sometimes we take life for granted as well as our surrounding, we forget to take that moment and listen to our environment, marvel in the glorious wonder that surrounds us,

WordPress Bloggers Beware! -Last post for the night!

Pop up blockersThis will be my last post for the evening. Earlier, I found a site that we Bloggers need to be aware of so that our systems do not get infected or worse. In the screen capture, you will see that I used IE, Firefox and Google Chrome to demonstrate what is going on in the background on this Blog. In IE and Firefox, you can see that pop-ups are being blocked and in Google Chrome far right, you can see that fake ad that some of us are aware of from other sites around the globe.  I made a video earlier that is in the previous post, but for convenience, I will repost here as well.

Forgetful Minds -Old Age Humor Stories

Most of us being in our twenties to sixties have experienced a moment or two of Forgetful Mind Syndrome. The misplaced keys, searching for sunglasses while they are on top of one’s head the whole time. The misplaced cell phone found in various places, that note you just wrote seconds ago and you know it was right in front of you just moments ago but nowhere to be found to only show up at a later time when no longer needed, -it only gets worse as we age

Yesterday was Deb’s Mother and Step-father’s 24th anniversary, so we paid a visit with a card in hand and ritual blessings. After awhile of chatting and laughing, my cell phone notified me of some new followers (thank you my new friends 🙂 ), I showed Deb. Deb’s Mother Jan had a facial expression of curiosity upon her face, so Deb informed her Mother about my Blog and what it was about and gave a few examples, one of them was a post I did back in July, LEVITY -HUMOR AT MY EXPENSE. A TRUE STORY!. That is when Jan said, “You know what you can put on your Blog….” So this is with permission.

The day started like most other nothing out of the ordinary. Jan told her husband that she wanted to go to the store. Gene replied, “I’ll go” “nope, I’ll go by myself,” Jan said. So off she went. Once shopping was done and paid for, she exited the store and proceeded to load the car with the groceries. She headed back to the car and placed herself on the passenger side.  Are you following?

So there she was in the car sitting on the passenger side wondering why the car has not moved.  I busted a gasket on this one.

Funny how our minds function at certain times. At least the keys were not locked inside the car. Most of us have been down that road.

What can we take away from this? We have to be able to laugh at ourselves from to time, it does a body and mind good according to a study done in 2011.

You only got one shot, don’t let it go to waste.

I found this blog via a Youtube video earlier this morning from the comment fields, There is a quote here that correlates with an earlier post I did, GET YOUR HANDS DIRTY! The quote: “Life will test you. It’s about falling and getting up your whole life till the day you lay in your grave. It’s about discovering talents you’ve never even considered. It’s all about taking risks even when your anxiety gets the best of you. It’s about taking initiatives, helping one another even when it does not really fit your profile and take that one shot you never considered of taking.”

Oriebella's Imagination

Yesterday I played the role as photographer for a friend of mine. She needed some new pictures of herself, because she isn’t a person who makes selfies. I even did her makeup although she is someone who really is a natural beauty. I admire her. I can’t believe that she doesn’t realize how beautiful she is.

It was funny that I did something I never even considered doing. Sometimes you need to do something what isn’t meant to be for you.

Not everyone can be an actor.
Not everyone can sing like an angel or paint like Picasso.
Not everyone can play the guitar like Paul Mccartney, but it doesn’t mean that we can’t try.

You need to discover your own talent.

Life will test you. It’s about falling and gettingup your whole life till the day you lay in your grave. It’s about discovering talents…

Invisible Scars

Days of past have spawned their shadows of doubt

Forming future broke hollow bridges

Eyes that rolled -while others turn away

Torches lit –stones thrown

Bringing unwanted burns

Forged smiles

Stacking on life’s young fragile tiles

Days spiral

Serpents slither intertwining -twisting shades of gray haze

Stars fade away

As you look, hope and dream for a sunny spring day

Empty eyes casting spells of day’s illusions

As darkness crawls

Recalling shallow whispers

Silently walking through sorrow’s lane

Passing Cake Battered Avenue

Ashamed, beaten, bruised alive

Headed for sanctuaries path

Covered by tainted souls

Shadows crying unwanted lies

Dim lights glow as you shower

In hopes of days soot vanishes

Swilling down the careless pit that hisses without a kiss

Her Name…Determination

If only we could go back to the roaring 20’s, A bold and rebellious poem.

Souldier Girl

***Thank you Megan

I want to be a flapper

A symbol of celebration
Dancing in the face of discrimination
Whistle and toot my way into freedom
Among the feast of governing isolation
Change my name
Change my destination
Opportunity runs in the opposite way of the oncoming
invasion
set my sights and continue to
raise them
My eyes embrace a culture devoid of opposition
A deflating rigid system
Baptized into the ocean of
born again
Frolicking with you into the sun
Where good times stick like honey
…to a happiness that never ends
